comosum

Inspired by botanical descriptions of Chlorophytum comosum (Spider Plant), as well as microphotographs of the plant's cellular structures, comosum is a series of cyanotypes on archival watercolor paper. Hand-drawn negatives were printed using sunlight, and the resulting prints were variously toned, bleached, and/or over-printed. Each work measures 6 inches by 9 inches.
